LET.     US.     HELP.

Wind Damage, Hail Damage and Storm Damage

On an asphalt roof, hail damage looks like a dark spot, or bruise, where the roofing granules have been knocked away. In some cases you may find holes, cracking, or missing shingles on roofs with hail or storm damage. After a tornado or hail storm, you may notice split seams and torn or missing shingles.

This can result in leaking and serious water damage, which can lead to mold formation and wood rot, which can compromise the structural integrity of your roof resulting in collapse. In severe wind storms, it is common for shingles or sections of the roof to be missing altogether.

Common Signs of Roof Damage:

  • Missing shingles
  • Bruises or dented asphalt shingles
  • Cracked or broken tile, slate, or concrete shingles
  • Granules collecting in gutters or downspouts
  • Rotted or torn rubber boots around pipes
  • Leaks in your roof or ceiling

CHANGE OF REGULATION

With all the changes to the laws and regulations it can be hard to know where to start, Best Choice Roofs has you covered.

Over the past several years, Insurance companies have significantly changed the way they process homeowner claims. Whereas the company representatives used to require that you get several bids and they then evaluated those bids to determine a set cost/replacement value for your claim, that process has now gone away.

Today, your insurance adjuster will determine the scope of work and total cost using a database program called Xactimate®. No matter what cost the roofing contractor may say is needed, that is ALL that the insurance company will pay.

At One Stop 360, we use that very same database information to make absolutely certain that your insurance adjuster has included, line by line, such damage as we have determined need to be repaired. Our familiarity with Xactimate®, allows us to to work more closely with your adjuster to guarantee that all damage is covered by your policy.

CLAIMING INSURANCE

Let us help. We use that very same database information to make absolutely certain that your insurance adjuster has included, line by line, such damage as we have determined need to be repaired.

When you think your roof may have sustained damage, first call a qualified contractor such as One Stop 360. We are licensed, bonded, insured and a member of BBB. We will come out, inspect for damage, and, if found, do emergency repairs only. After damage has been determined by your roofer, then you need to call your insurance agent and they will give you a claim number. Do not lose that number as it will be used by all parties to settle your claim.

You will then need to schedule a time to meet the adjuster at your home and see that they climb on your roof to properly assess damages. After the adjuster has actually seen the damage, they will provide you with an estimate of the amount they have determined to repair your home. If that amount is different than the cost estimate we gave you, simply forward the adjusters estimate to us and we will make direct contact with the insurance company to reach an agreed upon settlement. Once work is completed to all parties satisfaction, then, and only then, we will request payment in full for our services.
